Licensing Reliability

Licensing Reliability

The relationship between ownership, device activation, validation, offline grace, and product access.

Updated 2026-10-02

A connected licensing lifecycle

A purchase or approved claim establishes product access. Activation associates permitted access with a device; validation checks the current state; deactivation releases use on a device. A serial is a claim or activation input, not a substitute for entitlement checks.

Reconnect without inventing ownership

The client can use a previously valid cached state within configured offline grace. It must distinguish a network problem from a confirmed invalid response. Device changes, revoked access, expired subscriptions, and refund outcomes require their own handling.

Package-specific access policy

JUCE 0.6.0 requires online renewal at startup. Valid saved credentials are reused without repeated sign-in, but offline audio access is unavailable in this release. HISEScript offline grace is a different package policy.

HISEScript grace requires prior valid, unexpired access. Confirmed invalid or revoked access cannot be treated as a network failure. Native HISE requires the compiled authority to be present and tested.

Support needs the right context

For activation problems, provide the product, package version, platform, and non-sensitive error code. Share serials only through the appropriate private support process, never in public screenshots. Test Connection confirms credentials and product binding, not customer ownership.
