Commerce, Orders, and Payment Integrity
Commerce, Orders, and Payment Integrity
Managed checkout responsibility, authoritative prices, verified payments, financial records, and customer access.

Pay with PayPal or Stripe, in USD
PayPal is accepted at SoundSync checkout for one-time purchases. Stripe supports card payments and available wallets. Subscription checkout currently uses Stripe, not PayPal.
SoundSync supports USD only currently. Products are priced and checkout charges are presented in US dollars; a payment provider's conversion into a buyer's account currency does not make checkout multi-currency.
Clear commercial responsibility
SoundSync Solutions is the Merchant of Record for purchases completed through SoundSync-managed checkout. SoundSync handles payment processing and applicable sales-tax/VAT calculation, collection, registration, filing, and remittance for those transactions.
SoundSync charges one 10% fee on product revenue after discounts and before tax. Payment processing is included for SoundSync-managed checkout. Marketplace-attributed sales use the same fee, not a second marketplace charge.
Payment confirmation is not a redirect
A customer returning from checkout is not enough to create paid access. Verified provider events reconcile the payment, order, purchased items, and fulfillment. Duplicate events must be recognized rather than granting the same purchase repeatedly.

Records with different jobs
Clear distinctions make customer support and reconciliation possible.
| Record | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Order | The recorded transaction and its financial state |
| Order item | A particular product or purchased line |
| Entitlement | A customer's right to product access |
| Activation | Permitted product use on a device |
| Ledger/statement | Financial entries, charges, adjustments, and settlement context |
Refund and dispute changes
Customers contact the product developer to request a refund within 14 days of the initial purchase. Developers can refund the full order or selected whole products within it; custom monetary amounts and part-of-product refunds are not offered. Only the initial subscription payment is eligible under this standard policy, not renewal payments. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Authorized developers initiate refunds from the Purchases view: review the eligible order, select whole products or the full order, inspect the refund breakdown, enter a reason, and confirm. The service checks the original captured payment and request window before processing. External reseller payments must be refunded by the seller that collected them; the partner integration separately reconciles fulfilled access.
Refund and dispute handling must reconcile finances and access together. The current workflow and fee-allocation transitions are explained on the refund page, not hidden behind a general payment claim.
Subscriptions and changes
Recurring products connect billing state to ongoing entitlements. A plan change, scheduled downgrade, failed payment, cancellation, and full refund are different events. Test the configured product and subscription behavior rather than assuming a one-time checkout proves every renewal case.

Sign in before payment
Browsing can remain anonymous. Before managed payment, the customer signs in with a verified account; the checkout preserves the supported cart and promotion choices. Fulfillment follows the signed-in account identity, not merely an email returned by Stripe or PayPal. Customers return to their library after confirmation.
